Animals In Need Fund

Animals In Need Fund (AINF) supports pets in need of new homes. This includes pets relinquished through C.A.R.E.4Paws programs when families are unable to take them back, as well as community cats and kittens living in riverbeds and other high-risk areas. While C.A.R.E.4Paws’ primary focus is helping pets remain with their families, AINF provides a pathway to safety and adoption when reunification is not possible.

C.A.R.E.4Paws assumed responsibility for AINF in 2024 after it had operated for many years as an independent nonprofit organization headed by C.A.R.E.4Paws’ Assistant Manager, Libby Cabral, featured in the photo below.

Foster Opportunities

Fostering an animal is a wonderful opportunity to show love and compassion for a dog or cat until a permanent home is found. If you have the time, the space and the passion, we’ll supply you with everything you need to care for your foster pet.

As the hunt for the perfect, forever home for your foster dog or cat is underway, we may ask you to facilitate meet-n-greets with potential families. Fostering is a wonderful gesture for our Animals In Need and it literally helps us save more lives.

The amazing village of foster families and through our partnership with The Caffeinated Cat Cafe in Grover Beach, CA, allows us to rescue cats and kittens from our local county shelters and accept surrendered or homeless cats in an effort to find them new loving homes. This unique partnership has significantly reduced the euthanasia of healthy, adoptable cats. Have you met one of our loving cats and are ready to adopt, please fill out our application.

With dog foster families in place, we are able to welcome canine kids into our rescue program. If you have met one of our special pups and would like to make them a part of your family, please complete the corresponding application below.

Hi. I’m Dakota. I am working with C.A.R.E.4Paws to find my forever family. They are doing everything they can to keep me out of the shelter system, and thanks to some truly amazing foster families, I am thriving.
