Animals In Need Fund

On January 1, 2024, C.A.R.E.4Paws brought San Luis Obispo County nonprofit Animals In Need Fund (AINF) under our umbrella of programs. Under the leadership of our Assistant Manager, Libby Cabral, AINF continues to provide foster care and adoption of cats and dogs in need. Learn more below!

Foster or Adopt

Fostering an animal is a wonderful opportunity to show love and compassion for a dog or cat until a permanent home is found. If you have the time, the space and the passion, we’ll supply you with everything you need to care for your foster pet.

Or are you ready to adopt a four-legged family member? If so, click below to view our adoptable pets and/or fill out an adoption application.

Dakota, the love bug and saint

Hi. I’m Dakota. I am working with C.A.R.E.4Paws to find my forever family. They are doing everything they can to keep me out of the shelter system, and thanks to some truly amazing foster families, I am thriving.
Here is what you may have missed about me:
• Sweet, affectionate & silly…don’t forget silly!
• Wicked smart and very treat-motivated, which means teaching me fun new things will be easy
• Ball is life
• House trained
• The most polite car passenger you will ever meet
• I bond quickly and love deeply
I would do best as your only pet for now. No cats or other dogs, please. I like the spotlight and would love to soak up all your attention. With time and guidance, we can totally explore dog friendships later.
I’m spayed, vaccinated and microchipped.

For more information, for questions about a specific pet, or if you would like to be added to our list of on-call foster families, please send an email to libby@care4paws.org.
