Behavioral Training

Dog Training Intervention

Often, pets are relinquished to shelters because of a behavioral issue their owners can’t manage. To help keep these animals in their homes, C.A.R.E.4Paws supports low-income pet owners in Santa Barbara County by referring them to the appropriate trainer or training class, or by setting up a private session with a local trainer, depending on a pet’s specific needs.

Who qualifies

Low-income pet owners who cannot afford to pay for training and whose dogs and cats are at risk of ending up in a shelter due to a behavioral issue that causes hardship for the family and/or pet. Pets need to be vaccinated and altered before entering our program and we can assist you with this in our mobile clinic.
