Behavioral Training
Often, pets are relinquished to shelters because of a behavioral issue their owners can’t manage. To help keep these animals in their homes, C.A.R.E.4Paws supports low-income pet owners in Santa Barbara County by referring them to the appropriate trainer or training class, or by setting up a private session with a local trainer, depending on a pet’s specific needs. We do not offer general dog training classes or puppy training at this time.

Who qualifies
Our services are reserved for low-income pet owners in Santa Barbara County whose dogs and cats are at risk of ending up in a shelter due to a behavioral issue that causes hardship for the family and/or pet and are unable to afford training. Proof of low income required. Pets need to be vaccinated and altered before entering our program. If you need assistance with these pet wellness services, we can help you in our mobile veterinary clinics.
