We are deeply saddened about the passing of animal welfare legend Diana Basehart. Diana spent her life caring for animals and fighting for animal rights, and she inspired people around her to do the same. She founded Actors and Others for Animals in 1971 and then later started the Diana Basehart Foundation, which became a program under C.A.R.E.4Paws’ umbrella in 2017 to provide veterinary care for pet families in need in Santa Barbara.
Diana made a remarkable impact in the lives of thousands of animals and pet families in need over the years. At the same time, she was a wonderful, loving and wise friend with a great sense of humor. Diana, you will be missed always and your pawsitive legacy will live on forever.
